WANT-WANT Group, the market leader in rice crackers in Taiwan and mainland China, officially entered Vietnam with a passion to bring the “best snacking experience” to Vietnamese families.
The official launching of WANT-WANT Group in Vietnam
On December 12, WANT-WANT’s range of rice crackers, ice cream, and beverages hit the shelves of Vietnamese convenience stores and supermarkets.
With a local production facility being built, Vietnam will become the group's strategic hub for Southeast Asia.
To support this mega-launch, an inauguration event took place on the same day at Nikko Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City in the presence of local government officials, distributors, media and press representatives, and other guests.
Group executive director Kevin Tsai said, “Setting up this new manufacturing plant is a historic milestone for us. I am optimistic about our future growth in Vietnam, where we have seen the enthusiasm of the local government and people who helped us build a strong network to operate.
“We will go with ‘quality first’, working with the right partners to innovate and develop products to suit the tastes and consumption habits in Southeast Asia.”
Everett Chu, chief financial officer of WANT-WANT Group, hopes that the “ultimate recipe” behind the rice crackerswill “win the hearts” of people having a love for rice in Vietnam – one of the world’s largest rice exporting nations. Besides, the group's ice cream and beverages are likely to attract tropical consumers.
“I feel excited about sharing our experience and Taiwanese tastes and traditions with Vietnam, all coming with the highest-quality raw materials, local production, and local people. I am sure there will be a lot for us to learn from Vietnamese and Southeast Asian consumers, as we strive to bring safe and delicious snacks offering plenty of choice,” says Chen Han Hua, general director of WANT-WANT Vietnam.
WANT-WANT Group is a highly successful Taiwanese F&B brand with 57 years of history. Currently, the company is present in 59 countries across six continents and employs over 50,000 people worldwide.
